Some years ago I read about a guy who shite in the kitchen sink on an airplane and got arrested for it.

Likely sitting on an active taxiway or holding area waiting for a gate to open or weather to pass. Regardless, the Captain would normally make an announcement if he knew there would be an extended delay, and likely would have addressed the seatbelt sign/bathroom situation - so I'm not sure what would have caused this scenario, outside of gross incompetence by the flight attendant.
