I already provided another peer reviewed study that shows that the breed is responsible for more deaths than any other.

Hey baw, your ASPCA link has this disclaimer.
quote:

Please note: This position statement is intended to be considered in its entirety and excerpting is not recommended.

You conveniently left out this tidbit:

quote:

The reality is that dogs of many breeds can be selectively bred or trained to develop aggressive traits. Therefore the responsible ownership of any dog requires a commitment to proper socialization, humane training and conscientious supervision. Despite our best efforts, there will always be dogs of various breeds that are simply too dangerous to live safely in society.

Your whole premise is that the pit is misidentified and that they attack at the same rates

Ok, I give you that. Lets get rid of alot of dogs that resemble pits, and pits. I think that is a valid point you bring up.

Second, I dont give a shite if my chihuahua nips my kid. I do give a shite if your ugly hound that can kill my kid does. Just like I dont care if the kid next door plays with a slingshot, but I do care if they play outside with daddies 30-06.

You are all idiots.

I live in the area and my mom is friends with a local veterinarian who said the woman tried to break up a fight between the Pit and another dog.

This wasn't even her dog.

Fatal error.

These dogs get the worse rap and it is ridiculous.

Also two labs attacked a woman and her kid this past weekend and yet no news.

To clarify PETA’s position on pit bulls: We’re for ’em.

By “for ’em,” I mean that we are for pit bull protection, for their happiness, and for treating them like dogs instead of like cheap burglar alarms, punching bags, or gladiators in perverted death matches.

Some pit bull fanciers out there seem to think that PETA is “against” pit bulls because we don’t oppose breed-specific measures to address what is obviously a breed-specific crisis. Au contraire. [b]If someone proposed a ban on breeding Labrador retrievers or Chihuahuas or poodles (you get the picture – any dog), we’d be for those too.
That’s because we don’t think any dogs should be brought into the world as long as millions are dying for lack of homes in animal shelters and on the streets every year.

TJ already explained they are more apt to kill strangers, especially if they haven't been neutered. He referred to it as the 'perfect storm'

The only safe pit is one that is kept inside, with his balls cutoff that is never exposed to a stranger. Great breed.

You are going to have to provide more info on that. It's still anecdotal evidence. If you want to get serious, look at overall stats, not individual incidents.

I'm shocked. You never get in between two fighting dogs.

Wrong. Tie up any medium to big dog, abuse them, keep them intact and isolate them from dogs and people and see what happens.

So that is the case with this dog in WM. The one being boarded. Do folks that tie their dog up outside usually just pay some cash to board it?

She did and it cost her.

I befriended two American Bullies down the road just by riding my bike. By the standards here on this board they both should have torn my neck open.

First time I ran into them on a ride they were howling and barking like mad off a leash. Instead of freaking out and getting scared I got off my bike and took the time to assure them I was loving and safe to be around.

By the time I got back on my bike they were following me begging to play more. I took them back to their owners and she said I could play with them whenever I came by.

I was in high school at the time and saw them regularly.

Stupid gets people killed or hurt a lot more than pits.

Hell, my grandpa had a friend who raised two bobcats from the wild after finding them at a rest stop in Ruston back in the 70's lol. No problems at all.

Knew a woman whose Indian husband owned a Gray Wolf. Her husband passed away and she continued raising the wolf and he has never harmed her ever. Best animal I have ever seen with a human. Smart, loyal, and you best not try and hurt her lol.

The prejudice of these post to kill a breed of animal is sad.

So back to the wild cat comparison I see. And brought up by a pit lover this time. 225 must be losing his mind.

Let's all go adopt some bobcat cubs. They are just cute babies. Never du nuffin.
