If that's what your therapist said, then you were given personal opinion rather than the professional level counseling you should have received. Yeah, morals definitely play some part in it, it drives us often. But there are so many other parts of that equation that your therapist didn't mention, like I did in my previous post. Morals are but a snippet in the sphere of cheating.

There are qualifiers to this. If it’s a Vegas trip, Miami, Jamaica, or Cancun is not the same thing as going on a hunting trip with your boys. I would never go on a trip without my wife where other women are involved socially. It’s a bad idea. Even if you get caught with one of your friends doing something stupid. Use common sense both sexes.

It really pissed my ex father in law off when he went on business to Caribbean Islands to see wealthy women from NYC with big black gigolos around them at hotels taking winter vacations

Our group of friends do a girls trip and a guys trip every year almost. I look forward to it every year.

Well, true if she chooses clubbing and other loose establishments like that. That's where the alcohol, distance, opportunity, attention from men = higher potential for cheating comes from. You add in dancing, and it goes even higher. It's a bad idea, even with a trusting spouse. Not sure why people think it's a crazy idea.
Like Mr. Eurocat said, it's not a coincidence that his buddy, the Psychologist, sees so many "I never thought I was capable of cheating" clients.

We use to love opening weekend of hunting season. Soon as those husband's head to the camps, the wives would head to the bars looking for some strange. It was like a turkey shoot. Problem was dodging the fat and uglys.

Same with the rig workers. Clubs loaded with them when their husbands are on the two week offshore stints.

My brother was visiting this summer and when I asked where he was staying, the answer was “depends who’s husband’s offshore”

A good guys weekend can energize me for months. I would never begrudge her a girls trip so long as I’m comfortable with who she is going with. Men need time to be amongst men and women need time amongst women. No kids or spouse, just enjoying friendship.
