Its an awful lot to overturn the will of voters in 10 states. Its a big old frick you to a large chunk of the population, including likely the largest state. And at least one swing state (CO), potentially more (OH, NH).

This issue is going to be asked by the voters.

And no way its going to be christie on the GOP ticket.

Are you referring to the lawsuit from Nebraska and Oklahoma against Colorado?

If so, there's a pretty good chance they'll deny cert.

yes, and it won't be this summer. My mistake. I have no idea what SCOTUS will do.

He's not legalizing anything.
This law won't serve but a narrow few. You're 20 years away, if ever.

You're looking at an October meeting in the fall where cert will be denied then.

The case is just a huge nuclear bomb no matter how they rule and the feds don't want to touch it and I'm sure the Justces will feel the same as well.

I think it's the opposite. This is a watered-down version of MMJ that only got traction because one of the main players in the Sheriff's association knew some little girl that had a bad disease and needed it. Yeah, a-hole...because all of those other people's stories weren't legitimate. It's only an issue when it affects you. Anyway, I think this does just enough so the conservatives that will always run Louisiana can say, "What? We legalized medical marijuana. We're good guys. It doesn't need to go any further." That's why, despite supporting full legalization, I am against this bill. It's chickenshit, and largely symbolic.

Informed opinion. LA is grifted, again.

You'll know you're making progress when you can grow, legally.

Until then, it's all show.

25 years, if ever.

Gene Mills, LFF and CCA will lobby behind the scenes to prevent it.

It's as if some of them go out of their way to alienate younger, libertarian leaning voters.

Bingo.

That was the big turning point for people in Maine, once they passed it legal to grow your own bud, things took a swing for recreational use in the southern part of the state in a big way

people essentially said,"well.. why can't we have legal possesion? it's not like anyone is gonna be toking up in the streets or anything..."

and they haven't, but.. at the same time, I constantly smell pot when walking around in Portland, and this is just down random streets in middle of downtown/Old Port, it's not like roaming around besides the Whole Foods dunpsters during break time. That is still unpleasant and I use to blaze up with my boy Johnny Hopkins on the reg, so it's not like i'm some prude or something...

Louisiana will turn it into a very corrupt Russian-style crony capitalist scheme.

What they'll do is limit licenses to only certain people. It won't be like in California and other states, where most people can go through all the hoops and do it.
