One of my roommates used to always walk home from the bars through Tigerland to get to Brightside by himself.

Pretty dumb.

Honestly, if I was a freshman at LSU nowadays. I'd try to swing for living in one of those new apartments on E Boyd Dr (The name escapes me).

The loft things?

The Cottages are just weird. I've heard their pool is nice.. and they were the first of the new set of student apartments we got in that area.. but they look like freaking slave cabins As much as the idea of being in individual homes appeals to me, they look really odd.

I knew the cottages were going to shite when they lifted the you must be a student to live here policy.

Didn't Carlotta used to run into Chimes street? How long ago did they block it off? And why did they? The bridge is still there. I've walked across it many times.

Yeah it used to. Was blocked off after 2002 for sure, used to be able to cut through to Carlotta and then to Dalrymple through one of those church parking lots. I don't know why they haven't reopened the bridge.

I did it a lot when I was in in town through 07-10 and never had any problems. Honestly, the only problems we ever ran into were fights with other drunk college kids

When did they do that?

I'd imagine it was like beginning of 2014-2015 school year. They were advertising a shite ton, because I imagine they were having trouble filling the place.

Just found the name. They are called the Three Thirty Three Flats. I think that's a perfect location.

Girlfriend of mine bought one of these while they were still being built. Not sure if she still lives in it, but I know she really liked it.

Through that methodist church I think?

Seems weird they never reopened it. They must have their reasons. Maybe the roads on Carlotta were just too narrow and shitty.

Dated a girl who lived there in 2013. I think they lifted that starting in 2012. I can remember going to the pool and seeing a lady with her two kids there. That's when I said to myself "This is no longer a college apartment complex"

man i remember when beau pre was built

the one off river road

that place was fricking insane the first semester. there were times where literally there were so many cars on the street that only one car could drive in any direction. total gridlock while like 50 parties were going on

Yep.

They actually just cleared some more land right around there. I say just, but I don't live there anymore so it could have been like 6 months ago. I was wondering if they were gonna built more of those things there.

Why would someone not in school or not at least college aged want to live there? I feel like for that money you would have to be an idiot to have a family in one of those units

Meh, it was definitely still a college apartment complex in 2012-2013. I spent a lot of time there the year after that, and that's when I slowly started to notice some changes.

No clue. But I think it's pretty common for that complex now. Especially with most coeds wanting to live in the newest places.

This is what it's all about.

I know a few of the newer places disappointed these past few years, though, whether they weren't ready in time or what.

I wonder how the pricing structure works as well. Those "student" apartments normally charge per room rather than your normal apartment price that can be split amongst the tenants. That's the whole reason I never lived in one. $800+ for your bedroom rental to live WITH a roommate? frick that.

If there are families paying $1600 for the smallest 2-bedroom floor plan they offer, they are complete idiots. You can live in the "luxury" apartments all over town for $300 less than that.. and have more space, more quiet, better quality apartment, etc.

Yea, the place was by no means run down back in 2013. But management was changing policies that wasn't helping the place. I just noticed small changes here and there.
