Well, in all fairness, I think it's better to err on the side of caution, particularly when dealing with potential winter precip in the Deep South, especially since the kind of precip we're more inclined to get is ice rather than snow. There's just so much potential for really bad accidents to occur. Ice is way worse to try to drive on than snow, and in a place that's heavily populated & people not accustomed to it, it just makes more sense to keep folks off the roads in case of accumulation.

It does but I think I'm gonna throw some ribs on the grill, light the fire in the backyard and drink some beer. Just waiting a little longer so I justify drinking

ETA: Just realized it's 11... Game on

the problem with this is there are people that need to be cooking, working, preparing for sneauxageddon and they can't get to the store for a little flour.

sleet starting to stick on roads in Eunice.

Yea, so weatherbug has 0% for any type of moisture for the rest of the day in Zachary. Storm over. Carry on.

I'm 13 miles north of Zachary and it's been sleeting for 4 hours solid. Starting to accumulate.

Cenla snow is over.

Some powder on the roofs, roads are covered pretty well. About 50% coverage on the grass. All the sleet early mustve feel beneath the grass.

Big difference in 13 miles then. Here in my part of Zachary? Been sleeting lightly on and off. Minimal accumulation.

Yeah, amazing the difference just a few miles can make in accumulation totals.
