Sierra Trading Post is like a tj maxx. You can get really good deals on outdoor gear. They have tons of sales and promo codes out there. The only problem is sizes/colors are scattered. I have also purchased from Backcountry and Moosejaw (which actually has 20% off right now). I think you will get a much better deal online than in store.

Arc'Teryx

As good as it possibly gets. I rock Patagucci however; Reconnaissance jacket and pants for outer layer. Are you planning to ride backcountry and need good ventilation?

ETA: let me buy it from REI and use my member account so I get the 10% dividend on it in spring

not NOLA. no. think about it. its not getting below 27

if you know your size and style and "weight/how cold it really has to deal with), should be easy.

REI, Moosejaw, Amazon.

Amazon will take a return if you don't like it.
REI has 100% satisfaction guarantee. The REI line has been revamped and is good stuff. There really isn't a substitute for Gore-Tex in my opinion when considering water proof jackets.
