This is a fine example of the absolutely asinine ways La extorts money from its residents. The cops are going to do whatever the frick they want because it’s a third world shite hole with backwards arse rules like this to try and bring money in for the politicians to steal because god forbid they do anything to create an actual economy. I’m so glad I left that shite hole.
This guy really doesn’t like window tint laws.

would him seeing you drive by count as reasonable suspicion to enter the vehicle? doesn't seem like it if he couldnt prove the tint was illegal because the windows are rolled all the way down and he can't see them anymore
That’s not how this works. Imagine a cop pulling someone over for swerving. He has reasonable suspicion he’s drunk. The reasonable suspicion doesn’t go away because the car stopped and he isn’t swerving anymore. The reasonable suspicion standard was met when he observes the swerving. It doesn’t vanish later.
Or imagine a cop that pulls a car over that smells like alcohol and as he walks up and he sees the driver stuff something under the seat. He has reasonable suspicion. The fact that he can no longer see the concealed evidence has no impact on whether he has reasonable suspicion.
Same with the window situation. If he saw what he believed to be illegally tinted windows, he has reasonable suspicion at that point to inspect the windows. The reasonable suspicion doesn’t go away because you rolled the windows down. LOL. Efforts to prevent investigation and inspection have no impact on whether reasonable suspicion exists. Stated differently, reasonable suspicion doesn’t turn on whether the suspected criminal hides evidence. You can’t seriously think this is how it works.

Be wary too, some parishes the cops have a razor blade type tool and they put big X's in the windows so you have to either get it fixed or they can see it if you get pulled over again and know you didn't fix it. scumbag move honestly. A local shop here that does tint says if you get a ticket after they give you 20% just bring the ticket to them and they'll replace the tint with legal tint for free.

I remember getting illegal tint on my car and thinking it was cool
But in Louisiana I am now a hardened criminal that is a threat to society that needs to be fined by the state.

Thank you for your contribution.
Time for a spinoff thread on why LA tint laws are so strict compared to our neighbors

I actually don't care about window tint laws in particular. Just stupid government overreach that's used to fine (tax) citizens and businesses. It's a pathetic way police departments and governments fund themselves because they run piss poor economic models.

If you're not willing to reasonably comply and show your windows, I think he should draw his weapon and proceed to unload a round into each of your four tires. It's a shame cops should have to deal with this stupid shite
No. What's a shame is that we live in a country where this is a priority. This used to be a free country.

32% here in Alabama. But it also varies by vehicle type.
Passenger cars/station wagons are 32% all around. And the upper 6 inches of the windshield can be tinted. It then lists Multi-purpose passenger and recreational vehicles, which is just a long and drawn out way of saying trucks/vans/SUVs etc, and they have to have 32% on the front windows, but can go darker in the back.
I forget what we put on my wife's old Accord at the time, but I know the rear window was illegal. It had none from the factory, and we had a rear-facing infant car seat back there. The shop did legal tint for the front and rear side windows, and went pretty dark on the back window.
