First black football player was around that time, '72. Seems weird they didn't have the talent back then to make the team

Lora Hinton, running back from Virginia. He didn't play much , believe had some injuries. SEC did not start to integrate until around 1970.

Mike Williams, Lew Sibley, , Charles Alexander and Terry Robiskie led the way after Hinton.

Press recruited Collis Temple then Dale followed with The Doctor Kenny Higgs, Rudy, Cookie Man, Willie The Black Jet Sims, The Astronaut Dwayne Scales, Al & Tree Green, HI C and Ethan and the Fantastic Climb to the Top was underway.

While David Duke is an LSU alum, and can therefore claim connection to the University, he is a former State Representative, which also makes him notable. Beyond all that, including his Nazi and Klan days, I'd vote "no" on naming free speech alley after him.
