Google French creole.
In nola/Louisiana it mean his ancestors came directly from Europe instead of Stopping by Canada / the islands.

It was a way for the pure blood Europeans to differentiate themselves from the "immigrant cajuns" and other new comers.

Basically he was old aristocracy

Ah, always assumed it was because he had some mixed blood. Being from down the road and all.

Ps. Really do google it. It's a cool part of our areas history that has been forgotten due to the changing of the definition of creole overtime

That is true. I actually wouldn't have known it myself if my Pawpaw wasn't always call my moms family a bunch of High class creoles growing up (he was a blue blood coonass, so it wasn't a complement. Lol)

I got into an argument with someone in college about it, so I decided to research traditional fench definition

Lafitte and jackson will stay.
Both celebrating usa defeat british empire. Even if after the bell.

I wish no one told me it was after peace was signed in europe. Was one of my 20 biggest high school disapointments

Every time I visit a MLK statue I go to celebrate adultery.

This while thing is the biggest crock of shite. Why stop at those, might as well tear down the pyramids and all other Egyptian structures, Roman, Aztec, and majority of ancient ruins and structures. Majority of founding fathers statues, and last but not least mount Rushmore, faces of two slave owners and two racist.

Why? It's the largest city.

But really, if they ever built an Ikea in Louisiana, it would be in Metairie or Kennar
