That comes from a Pat Moynihan meme from back in the day. He was a smart guy and knew that, if properly applied, the 2nd Amendment would (Thank God!) thwart any and all gun control efforts in the end. This was even pre-Heller. So, he would "think out loud" on these talk shows and did what all good progressives do - search for a way around the Constitution and rights with which they disagree. Attack the ammunition supply!

They've been repeating that ever since.

I think 7 is a fine age to start shooting, but the thought of your daughter telling her first grade classmates how santa's elves built her a real gun is just funny to me

She loves it. She is still a little bit skiddish about firing it though. But she's catching on. Last time we went to the range she put almost every round on the target at 50 meters.

Darth, I applaud your parenting for teaching your daughter gun safety and training at such a young age. However, exposing her to the evils of the Metric system should be punishable under negligence laws.

I think it is more likely that they tax ammo to the point of being ridiculous expensive before they show up to take it away. It's how the government handles things they don't like, see cigarettes.

Eliminate the primer supply.
Don't ban cigarettes, eliminate the cotton filter supply....

Blame the US Army. They're the one's who got me accustomed to having things in meters at the range.

So, how did you answer the question: Are there any guns in the home

I've never been asked that question.

Please explain why you think this is a true statement. One that's been debunked on this board more than a few times recently.

a more liberal supreme court will see it the way they want to.

They will have to grandfather in existing stocks

why would they have to do this?

Because confiscation would be a bloodbath the likes of which this country has not seen since the 1860's.

I'll tell one thing, they are sure going to have a problem if the government thinks they will be able to go door to door and confiscate AR-15's. I can't imagine that would go over too well.

The whole idea of banning AR-15's is freaking ridiculous. When the did it in 94 it had absolutely ZERO effect on crime. ZERO. Democrats are awful people.
