If that is how you feel, then you shouldn't be mad with your insurance company, unless they have personally screwed you over.

Be mad at banks and the government for forcing to insure something which they have loaned you money for. You can self insure just about anything you would like if you don't owe any money on it.

Yea I know, I said that in my first post. rbwar got the joke. And for the record plenty of people in LA drive without insurance. They are part of the reason why our rates are so high

Insurance is how I make a living, so I am fairly partial to my line of work. There are alot of shitty carriers and retailers out there as well and I know people can get hosed by thier carriers on claims and such.

Exactly.. Hitting animals will still occur.. Which is a at fault collision claim for the driver..

I've never seen that happen unless someone deliberately hits an animal.

I've seen them paid as comp claims and not at faults. Every time.

ETA Irealize than can differ by company, but I've never seen them as at faults.

You can post any article / study you want, but the simple fact is that google's driverless cars have not been at fault in a single one of their 14 accidents. That is with millions of miles logged.

Once an insurance carrier offers a discount for automated vehicles, it will be a domino effect that will takes years to fully realize.

Eventually almost all cars will be self-driving. Accidents will decrease tremendously, and the cost to insure a car will drop precipitously.

The catch will be that if you want to actually drive the car, then you will have to pay out the nose to insure said car.

10 years, definitely.

But somewhere down the road, it'll shift, I just think it'll be way more than 10 years.

can't go away, but premiums will plummet. Many large insurers are already starting to recalculate how their risk exposure may change.

I've been in insurance for almost 10 years, every claim I've ever seen where an animal was hit is paid under Comp. Every one.

The part I don't get is that if you hit a human being, it's a collision claim.

The money for carriers in my opinion will be heavy on the manufacturers and owners liability. The hardest hit industry will be body shops. Service departments that service the vehicles technology will be booming with new techonolgy every year.
