I routinely feel I'm unqualified for things at work and in life and somehow figure it out anyway.

Yep.

I don't see it as insecurity, but acceptance. I could keep pressing, but I am tired of it.

Then I also remember that maxim of “95% of success is showing up every day”, and I do show up always and I do care about my work. So I guess that is worth something?

Showing up, trying, and generally just giving a shite sets people apart from I believe at least 75% of the workforce.

No and I get really tired of the term. I work in a field that is annoying increasingly female and a few times a week someone posts in my behavior analyst groups about imposter syndrome. You went to school, you did the field hours, you passed the boards YOU KNOW THE shite....have some damn confidence!

No because I’ve been out in the world and know what an “average” person is. I have no doubt that I am well above “average”

Do you work at a burger joint or something? Most people I work with are far above average.

Oh, our jobs are justified. But irrelevant. We are not a money making making unit generally. We’re more of an add on incentive service for clients usually and our clients generally pay dirt cheap for us. And the overall business is doing very well. So they keep on adding more and more and more clients for us to service and we get generally positive responses for clients so upper management feels no need to dedicate more resources to make our lives any easier.

I don’t blame management to a certain extent but man it sucks being near the bottom of the totem pole.
