I don't follow. How is 17MPG better for the environment than 49MPG?

It's not. If you're comparing the Prius to the F-150 as a commuter vehicle one on one, the Prius is clearly and obviously more environmentally friendly. The article is just saying that since the F-150 is the best selling vehicle in America, the very modest increase in fuel economy will have a larger impact on pollution than you might expect. The title is just misleading click bait.

All I want is around 20 mpg. If you can get me 3+- that I'm happy.

Though I think my Tacoma should get better than 19mpg being half plastic.

Make sure tires are fully inflated and cut ac and radio usage. Tape off all cracks. I bet you get +5

he is skewing the numbers to help his argument. That is the basic idea of statistics. You can make a stat mean anything to favor your argument.

Your Tacoma doesn't get 20mpg? My F150 supercrew 5.0 V8 has averaged 18.5 hand calculated since I bought it. You may as well be in a full size truck if the mileage is so close Can also probably buy an F150 cheaper than a Taco

Also if you have 4wd mpg go down. Still have to turn the front differential
