Every city that doesn’t have a large demographic of certain people is safer than the ones that do.
San Antonio is safer than Houston or Dallas.
As are every border town, despite them getting so much shite. Laredo (maybe the worst border town in texas) is safer than Houston or Dallas and even San Antonio.

Hispanic is not a race. You can be white, black or Asian and be hispanic. Most Hispanics are mestizos.

Yep. I always go into "ORLY?" mode when somebody confidently states that poverty is the reason for high homicide rates.
They immediately go unhinged and this happens: They move goal posts -> accuse me of being racist -> block me.

It might be the 5th biggest city, but it’s the 17th biggest metro. Which means I am guessing they have annexed a lot of land over the years. Metro is a much better why to measure how big cities are.

Doesn't SD have the most active duty military population per capita of any major city?
I have only had one visit to SD and at the time I was more interested in crossing over to Mexico for the legal pharmaceuticals they had. But I do remember it being a very nice place compared to other metro areas I have visited before and since.

Los Angeles still has a relatively low homicide rate compared to certain other cities. Even Dallas and Houston have higher homicide rates than Los Angeles.

Do you have any data to support that poverty is a bigger indicator of homicide rate than race?
Explain low homicide rates in Brownsville, El Paso, Laredo, McAllen, San Antonio, etc. Do Mexican-Americans not experience poverty?
Also, is it not possible that the same person that is more likely to murder people is also more likely to do dumb things, and is thus more likely to be poor?

I actually worked for the census in south texas and most Hispanics when asked the race question say white. There are two questions, one is what race are you and the other is are you Hispanic or not hispanic. Only a few Hispanics said other. Most, regardless of skin tone, said white.
Also most of my friends are Hispanic and they don’t like illegals and pretty much consider themselves to be white. Most Hispanics around here don’t speak any more Spanish than I do… I am a quarter hispanic but I don’t really count it cause I look straight out of a nazi recruitment poster

Some towns in south texas are basically 90% Hispanic, 40% poverty like Rural southern towns and yet they are very safe. Probably safer than white trash towns to be quite honest.

Can you link the murder rate for the poor areas of the Appalachians? How about all the news stories of the murders in trailer parks.
