Please do not look at a satellite map of coastal Terrebonne Parish.

There are "Lakes in Name only" now as they now are pretty much open water in Terrebonne Bay.

Well here’s another kettle of fish. When I lived in Abbeville I had a great t-shirt: “I’ve just been to the islands ... Pecan, Forked and Cow!”

Seems like I recall from first year law school (and that's a long way back), that Lake Pontchartrain is legally considered as an "arm of the sea", whatever in the heck that means.
