He made millions. He decided he knew good art and he won. You can't be sure about the public but some have the eye.

some people love that shite, i dont get it at all.
you give me a picaso and it means as much to me as the kids puzzle paper they add to your tray at mcdonalds
knew a guy who made little ceramic dolls, they were dressed as worker types with overalls, cops, firemen, and doctors outfits. the theme was they all had a hammer standing up where the head should be. he sold these "hammer head sculptures" for $600-$1200 depending on the subject matter and the type of painted on outfights the molded dolls had.
