Yep. My bed is 8' with the tailgate up. I use my truck as a truck. You still can order a longer bed, I think.

And all he got was a dodge

Maybe he got a t-shirt, too, "I just got rammed"

Loaded to you didn't mean fully loaded from the factory. An actual fully loaded '18 3500 Ram stickers over $85k.

No issues here

I don't own a truck, I'm not a "truck guy", but more power to those that are such...

What I notice is people bitching about the overall prices across the board, and it’s easy to blame needless luxury items for the inflated stickers, plus the fact lots don’t have a lot of base models on display. Plus the base models sticker upper $20s or low $30s.

Sticker prices are crazy but no one pays sticker and trucks are better than ever.

When you count inflation, a similarly equipped truck is the same price as it was 10 years ago.

3.5l ecoboost in sport mode is a blast to drive.

I love my V8 Tundra, but I sometimes regret not buying the 3.5 Ecoboost. I just didn’t trust the long term reliability but my fear was probably unfounded. The V8 Tundra has all the power I need but it’s not zippy in any way.

I paid 28k in 2008 for a super crew Ram. Last year I bought a similarly equipped F150 and it was 31k.

Probably, I don’t know. No one pays sticker anyway. I know a new V8 Ford XLT could be had for about $34k a year ago, with minimal haggling.

The early models had some flaws. My dad has well over 100k on his 2015 though.

I drive an F350 and it’s loaded out because I spend several hours a day in it and occasionally drive out of state and I want something comfortable. I also work the shite out of it by pulling trailers, boats, equipment and the bed gets full on a regular basis. Not every nice truck doesn’t work. I’ve always worked them hard and when I’m done every few years I go get another.

I don’t put them in the woods. I have four wheelers and a flatbed for that.

What does your husband drive?

That sounds right. People just go crazy when they see the $45k sticker on a XLT. Get past the sticker shock and the prices aren’t bad considering how good trucks are these days. It’s really a great time to be a truck fan.

Yep the sticker on mine was over 40k. You can knock 10k off immediately most of the time and start negotiating from there. I did it all via email.

Technically used but it was one the sales manager had been driving so it had like 4,500 miles on it. Basically new.

I have 4 F250 crewcab long wheelbase gas burner fleet trucks with vinyl seats, floor and manual windows I paid $28k for each at the end of 2017.

You can buy brand new 2018 F150 fleet truck, some even with cloth seats and some power for $25k right now. Maybe even a bit less. They can be as affordable as most anything.

Yeah I think the current model would’ve been fine but the complaints of the older model is what scared me away.
This is what I’d buy:
