Is this thread you way of telling us how great your life is and that you don't need alcohol like the rest of us?

This thread is asking why one needs to alter reality in order to enjoy life.

it is a want or desire, not a need

eta: also, who said people don't enjoy life without it?

I don't need to alter reality, but I have a lot of fun doing so. It's a natural biological imperative, not strictly limited to humans.

What if I don't? What if I do? Who cares?

Not everyone who does does it because they "can't cope with reality". Some people may, but that doesn't mean all people do

It's just a question. And a very sensitive question, I realize.

Also, your premise is flawed.

Getting drunk/high doesn't mean that folks don't enjoy life any other way, as well. This isn't a zero sum game.

Again, your problem/confusion is that you're assuming everyone who imbibes and such is incapable of enjoying life otherwise. An egregiously presumptuous position on your part, I must say.

BUT, it's keeping your shitty thread afloat, of course, so there's that

While your response is appreciated, it doesn't answer the question.

So, it alters your suffering into something more tolerable?

I already answered your question. Not my fault you chose not to read or heed it

It's not trolling, it's a simple question.
