The word I use is INDIGNANT. A sense of indignation is important to many women in a way it isn’t to most men . Even if they have to manufacture it. While we watch sports they watch reality tv where grievances and resentments are argued about. While we dig into policy and cause and effect they hyperventilate about how someone was “ mean” It’s why so many women hate who they work with. It’s why there is TMZ and People magazine and celebrity gossip- and men are “ toxic” and the neighbor is a “a-hole” and the ex is a “ narcissist “-because women need something to have a low key sense of indignation about. It starts on the playground and for some women it just gets worse.

The tipoff for me that this might be the case is any woman who has a preoccupation with celebrity culture or the lives of others. Those are the ones to avoid. Find the ones who have a rich introspective spiritual life and enjoy the natural world- any sign of gratitude and contentment. Those are the keepers.
