I like the crunchy, but I wrap it with a soft. Keeps it from falling apart. Been doing this for years.

Didn't read if anyone else answered. Bake at 300 for 5 mins, even stale shells will immediately refresh and become melty crunchy. Haven't tossed old shells in years since baking them first. I just store old shells in airtight containers until I can use them.
g to add: bake brand new shells too, they're the most stale ones of them all!

Yep when making tacos at home use the refried beans between the hard and soft shells

yep, soft with a layer of beans then hard in the soft
