Why do people want to be healthy and live longer? Someone help me understand why?

I’ll say this, I’d rather go quick at the end as oppposed to dragging it out. Dragging it out seems to be the current trend.

I'm driving this boat full throttle in to the rocks. I get it if you are really in to fitness and crap like that but I'm in to hookers and blow

Probably the opposite of reasons people choose to be embarrassingly overweight and disgusting, and they're motivated to spend more time with their family. Some of us want to accomplish things in life besides see how many dogs we can run over.

Not sure it’s as much living longer as it is living a better quality of life for longer. Nobody makes it out of here alive, but maybe as you age you get to enjoy it more the healthier you are. I don’t think this resonates with people in their 20’s and 30’s as it does 40 and older, but that’s truly the time that it should.

Aren't you the same poster who asked why it was wrong to cheat on your wife?
You probably won't have to worry about the issue of living longer when she catches you in bed with someone.

I prefer quality of life over quantity of life. Now the higher the quantity of quality, the better.

Can't a man be into all these things equally? As you age you may want to swap the blow for heroin.

My grandfather started having heart attacks in his early 50s and died in his early 60s. He was overweight, didn’t eat healthy food, and didn’t exercise. My father is mid 70s and doesn’t have anything that affects his ability to do yard work or anything for that matter. He has ate healthy the majority of his life, exercised daily, and kept his weight around 200. Seeing both of them, I can say my dad was the wiser one. He has gotten at least 2 decades of high quality living over his dad.

Because of the unknown of what awaits us on the other side.

Good question. As usual, the OP is shite with the English language.
Would the OT care to explain the reasoning behind the cost/benefit of working out and depriving yourself from your 30s through your 60s for a ln unknown number of extra years in your 70s and 80s. The benefit may not seem to justify the cost to many out there.
