Oh sweet summer child. I guess Miriam Adelson donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Trump for him to not go to war with Iran. I'm sure it's a coincidence that Trump disavows American Christians like Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, etc. while championing fricking Mark Levin. If you dont think Trump is Israel First at this point, you're beyond help. eta: and of course Rubio admitted that the US only began pre emptive strikes on Iran because Israel told the administration they were going in themselves with or without the US. But of course Israel doesn't hold any cards here

You’re laughable, dude. Just stop

Israel has no cards to hold against the U.S. What do you possibly think they can do to us if we don’t fund them or send them weapons? The answer is nothing, and you know it.

Also, families in Des Moines can certainly be affected if Iran eventually builds nuclear weapons capable of being deployed across the world.

That sounds exactly like my brother. Y’all went in around the same time. I went to visit him in various Juvie detention places in Pineville and Shreveport when he was in his teens. At 18 he had stolen some car stereo stuff that was valued enough to make it a felony. Dad was a lawyer and knew the DA and judge and finagled a dismissal if he joined the Army. He wound up in the 82nd Airborne, but more importantly, he developed discipline and came out with drive and ambition, and the GI bill paid for his medical education. He is doing great now, as I hope you are. The military fixes a lot of kids. Not all, but many.

1 in 1000 will actually fought. That’s pretty good odds of getting a 20 yr. Retirement without actually fighting.

Most jobs in the military are non combat, even during WW2.

Something like 14 million in the military in WW2 we lost under 500 thousand. Not sure how many in combat but that’s a lot of people in the logistics tail.

That is BS. Spoken like an MFr who didn’t serve. Are there some dipshits, sure but they’re also patriots that make it a family institution to serve their country. Some family’s don’t hate their country.

was. I’m a Marine with a CAR, so I share your perspective. But the original post I was responding to said “across the military” which is a LOT of people, only a small fraction of which have even deployed and among those an even smaller fraction has seen combat. Even during the peak of the GWOT, there were still huge amounts of military personnel that never went into Iraq or Afghanistan, let alone saw combat. Think of all those Airmen and sailors. Your combat experience makes you very unique, and more so by the day.

Hell I was air force at Barksdale. we would bomb your arse from the base. We wouldn’t even go in theater. 18 hr. Round trips.
