I play Madden with my buddies once on awhile when we can. Guess what? I am about to be engaged and soon start a family.

Your logic is flawed and a product of your lack of intelligence.

I don't play, but do you ever sit down and watch a 3 hour football game on tv? Shouldn't you be starting a family or doing something that provides value to your life? Video games are the same thing as any other hobby.

I play board games. Who cares, it’s fun and social.

Who says they don't do those things also?

I do think video games aren’t great for society. Make people more insulated, especially kids. Kids should be out playing, not indoors wasting away their days playing video games, play is an incredibly important part of children’s ability to function with other people. I think video games are harmful in that area.

I haven’t played video games in years and don’t feel like I’ve lost anything because of it. And I do think there’s something kind of weird about grown men playing video games but it’s not my place to judge.

He’s also worth $1.2M primarily because he’s a competitive gamer.

Why is that? 4 hour golf outing produces the same thing as 4 hours of someone playing video games. Nothing.

To be fair, that's what was said about TV.

The difference is when I was a kid ('70s) we stayed outside for as long as possible. Once inside we might waste away in front of the box, but outside was where we preferred to spend our time. Nowadays it's claimed kids are glued to their games and phones and have to be forced to go outside.

It’s only a problem if you become addicted to it. Just like it’s a problem with being addicted to anything else. There’s nothing wrong with playing some games every now and then.

It gets you outdoors socializing with other real people, a whole lot better than sitting on your arse for hours at a time doing essentially nothing.

Story also says the the gf had taken a job in another country.....sooooo I'm guessing that has more to do with his decision to end the relationship.

Also...guy has money and isn't horrible looking...he knows he can easily land another hot chick.

Video games are fun in moderation just like everything else.

For instance, I play a few PC games, hunt fish, BBQ , the usual

You watch midget scat porn and and post on message boards about adult men.

That's fine, we can talk about which hobbies are better, but you still haven't explained why video games can't be a hobby but something like reading, fishing, watching college football, bird watching, painting are.

I play video games and prob read more than you do.

I don't have cable so I rarely watch TV. Only really watch my sports teams. But hey, guess I'm a loser for wasting time on that too.

I'm also on two adult league soccer teams. Playing some golf on Thursday, washed my car yesterday, went fishing over the weekend.

Yeah, my life sucks.

I agree, but how many kids do you see outside running around and playing with their friends nowadays? Hardly any right? How much would you bet that they’re inside playing video games all day long?

I’m 24 and we used to during the summer play baseball games till it got dark in yards in my neighborhood, or go swimming in my pool for hours, or go ride around the neighborhoods on bikes all day. You don’t see that hardly at all now.

We have this huge field in the middle of my neighborhood that would be the absolute ideal place for kids to run around and play and do whatever we did when we were kids, there’s never anybody there. It’s pretty sad really.

Eta: essentially, I think that kids are becoming addicted to video games nowadays at a very early age because they have some form of screen in front of them from the time they’re born stimulating their mind. I think video games are harming kids’ imaginations, creativity, ability to think quickly, and ability to get along with other people.
