I think this tech board subject matter but I will take a stab. Evidently they wear them to measure data such as the number of steps walked, quality of sleep, and other personal metrics.

Don't know many people that can afford their own free weights, weight machines, inddor and outdoor tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, cold plunge, treadmill, recumbent bike, boxing ring, etc.

Yeah, that was a weird part of the OP's tantrum. I spend $29 for LA Fitness. I get the full battery of equipment and pools. As for fit bits, I am fit and wear one. My company's health insurance provides money towards our deductible with wearing it.

My Dad bought them from himself, my brother, and I. It's more of a competitive thing, but my Dad has lost around 20 lbs, my brother an additional 10 or so to what he already did, and I'm hovering around 15 lbs lost. Secret to losing weight is eating less and moving more. Whatever gets you doing that is what's best for you.

I have a fit bit that I wear. I'm thin but the only reason I wear it is because it's linked to my companies health plan website. I don't know how they calculate it but I got $200 in amazon gift cards over the past year for my "activity"

Mine isn't a fitbit, but it is through Virgin HealthMiles. It is just a simple pedometer. There are different tiers every day, like the first one is 7k steps, the next one is 12k steps, the top one is 20k steps. And we get 20 pts, 60 pts, or 100 pts for those levels per day. We can earn up to $425 a year if we hit certain points. The top one is 36k points. Basically just average right under 100 pts per day and you get there. And there are little bonuses throughout the year. I average over 10k steps per day. It isn't hard. Just walking around at the house, at work, and downtown. The days I run I usually top 14k.

The employees then in turn use their discounts to go buy more McDonalds and Dominos.

I use mine for movie tickets and gift cards to clothing stores.

I don't have a fitbit though. I do use an app through my phone where I get points through my insurance company towards free shite. You have to have a workout where you burn X amount of calories to do it though.

I forgot about that. My company pays me $30 a month to workout at least twice a week at a gym. Thankfully we don't have to wear the fitbit shite.

Ever notice that thin people aren't wearing the latest count your step gadgets, walking around the office with oversized sippy cups, drinking the diets colas or cramming the office freezers with Lean Cuisine? I have never seen any success with the craze of the month for making us a healthier society. Also don't understand the annual spend for health clubs when exercise can be done for free anywhere.

You answered your question right der. The fitter sector of society doesn't need gimmicks and gadgets or even a membership. Fitness is a lifestyle, not a chore to them.

Same here, the 36" rule. Not going larger
if you have a 36" waist, you probably aren't considered "fit" anyway

Good to hear, I think doing things as a group helps too. Office competitions for example.

6'2.5", underweight by any standards you want to use.

By the way, was at the stadium when we beat Toronto for four wins in a row, followed by four Ls in a row.

Why would they want to avoid lean protein when trying to lose weight?

I've heard doctors say your waist should be half your height to be considered healthy size.

So, if you're 6 feet tall, 36 inch waist is perfect.

I got a flex early December but wanted a Force, got the Force in February... gave the flex to my bro.

The Force got recalled and is no longer available due to a wrist rash issue but I still have mine.

This is the stupidest post in a thread about how fat people getting fit is annoying.
