The Indians were on the land that we wanted. The Mexicans were on the land where we wanted to put the Indians... the rest is history.

The Indians constantly took the land from each other but never in the size and scope of Texas. The Mexicans wanted what is texas for themselves along with everything to the west but that didn't work out like they hoped.. Basically, Texas took the land for themsleves and deeded their sovereignty to the U.S.

The Desert View Tower
Located on Interstate 8, near Jacumba and Ocotillo, in western Imperial County, Southern California, at 3,000 feet (910 m) in elevation, in the In-Ko-Pah Mountains.
Stop here to take a break!
The sand dunes east of the Tower.
You are going to have to do a lot of driving to be back by Friday afternoon.....
LINK
Pima Air Space Museum
Tucson, AZ
After Tucson, the scenery on the left (North of I-8) is very nice.
New Mexico scenery is good. After that, nothing.....
