Doubt it... I'm in San Antonio.

Damn… we probably live within a mile of each other.
When I was in kindergarten I lived diagonal from the McDonald’s next to central market. On Harrigan court

Yeah that's the problem. HEB has been around for decades and that area just got one. North TX isn't Texas.

Other than the pitiful business climate and clientele not being able to afford high end grocery stores
H-E-B has a low end grocery chain that is pretty decent in Joe V's Smart Shop, that could do well in LA.

I'm a few blocks south of the AH HS... near Honcho's churros.

Nice! You are in a nicer neighborhood than me. I live in the neighborhood behind target.

As for the lack of them in Dallas, I thought that the people there believed HEB's to be too "pedestrian" for their "refined tastes".
That's just your run of the mill Dallas insecurity. Don't sweat it.

There used to be a gentlemens agreement between the Butt family (HEB) and the Onstad family ( Randles/ Tom Thumb) to not enter each other's territory.
When Randall's sold out to Safeway that agreement ended in Houston area.
HEB is a very well run company, they don't make a move without through planning.

There are plenty of Jewish people in DFW.

I have relatives all over Texas, (lifelong residents) including some living in Dallas.
The Dallas ones definitely give off the “superiority”vibe, and all my other Texas relatives acknowledge as much.
That folks from Dallas generally think this way is pretty much the accepted consensus all over Texas. But who knows? Maybe they are all wrong.
