Isn’t St Thomas more a catholic school?

Why are we off Christmas then?

That’s the question I raised at the beginning. Why are public schools off on religious holidays

Why are non catholic private schools off as well?

Why are magnet/charter schools off?

Why do those same schools get off for Easter and Christmas?

Is it that hard to grasp?

Several people celebrate those holidays. If school was “in” for holidays like Christmas you’d likely have a large teacher shortage and that’s a safety issue.

You can say the same for non-religious holidays, depending on your region. Here in Louisville we’re off Oaks Day (day before Derby) for the same reason. I’m sure y’all typically have days off during Mardi Gras that isn’t Ash Wednesday.

Not off in Ohio. Anyone get off for first day of deer season? Some rural schools do this.

Out of all of the ubiquitous, mind boggling stupidity that pervades this site, this stands out as dumb as shite.

A lot of them are Catholic. Catholic people do go to public school too. I went to one for k-12 and received a full ride academic scholarship to the Catholic Loyola University where I graduated with honors.
