Because they’re told to be sensitive, and they do as they’re told.

The puppet masters pull their strings and they move. The funny thing is though, they think they are independent thinkers, and they are anything BUT They regurgitate the exact same talking points communicated through their friends on social media.

They look the same, and talk the same and when the puppet masters want them to move in a certain direction, they communicate that through social media and like a herd, they comply without hesitation, and the angrier and more outlandish they get the more they are seen as woke, and morally superior in the eyes of those they want to impress.

It’s why it really works well on younger people, as they are always looking for acceptance amongst their peer group. The unquestionable truth about younger people, regardless of what it is being discussed, is they never want to stick out and perceived as not being down with it. It’s critical to not be alienated if they ever have hope of being truly accepted. Want to get laid, or hook up with that person you like? Better not be ostracized from said peer group, so just comply.

Exactly. If they would just ignore this crap or tell them to go fly a kite, it will stop.

I would say 100% really don't care, they just want to play that "victim" role.

It's sad how much social media has politicized everything today. I honestly don't remember discussing politics or current events much with friends, classmates, etc in my teens and early 20s.

I have some friends that I grew up with and have known much of my life and have no clue how they lean politically.

Same here. I also have friends that I agree with on almost nothing, politically, but they're still good people.

And I'd go nuts living here if I discussed politics with everyone.

It’s a combination of things

We have a growing plaintiff culture that actually pays money to be a victim. Big rewards come your way if you just make a claim.

We have social media feeding that mentality.

We have a government that fosters a dependent mentality rather than self dependence.

We have generations of parents raised in all of this who are raising their kids to be victims too.

It will be very hard to turn back

I grew up in the 80s and early/mid 90s in a semi-rural, 95+% white suburb in South Louisiana. I'd imagine the vast majority of people that I grew up around aren't SJWs but it's just something that we never discussed.

I don't remember my time at LSU in the mid/late 90s being overly political either.

I'd have a hard time having a serious relationship with an Antifa member or something like that but she wouldn't like me anyway so that wouldn't be an issue.

I have an older sister that's a left winger. She lived in SF for a decade and now Austin. We get along fine though.

The only time I remember really pissing her off was when I trolled her on Facebook for taking my 11 year old niece to the pussy hat march

My little sister is pretty much a human meme. Says she's "non-binary pansexual", has preferred pronouns (they/their), blue hair, sensitive about everything. I just try to stick to talking about the weather or something.

First time I actually remember politics being discussed was when Ronald Reagan was running for President when I was in HS, and I didn’t have much of an opinion on the matter except that we had to get rid of Carter because he had brought this country to the lowest of lows. Even I knew that at the time.

Other than that though it was young people stuff like dating, going out, parties, concerts and the like. College political discussions were pretty much reserved for the classroom only. I was still more concerned with having enough money to buy Beenie weenies, and beer, but mostly beer after we paid rent and utilities. I was like everyone I knew at that age. We were focused on getting hammered, and getting laid.

Exactly. Why they should ignore it and leave the names and statues as they are .

And I was talking about the Strom Thurmond Fitness and Wellness Center at UofSC
