If you want to off yourself... grow a set and get it over with. No reason to kill others than you have never seen or met. These people didn't do anything to you and I doubt that you are rejoicing in the holy land right now.

He probably realized he would not survive the attack, but there are accounts that he was wearing body armor. If suicide was his primary goal, body armor seems an odd choice.
