Meh, my last LA experience was very quick, better than my TX experience.

There's a mega center about 30 minutes from me. 50+ booths staffed and different sections for different needs. I "got in line" via my phone, drove over, and was in and out in 15 minutes.

Texas > LA

there's a place like that near me, some politicians must have gotten pissed off at the lines, this new place is unreal, they're so nice you don't think you're dealing with gov't employees

There is zero incentive for them to provide good and quick service. You are forced to go there.

I would have just left and took my chances with an expired license

This has been going back and forth for a long time. I went in today expecting to pay $670, I had to pay $1125.

All because I didn't turn in two plates on some cars I sold back in 2011, and because I missed a payment of $160 after I paid off an out of state ticket that was supposed to be $224, but ballooned to $644 because the counties in Texas are allowed to sell their fines off to bill collectors who then DOUBLE the fines and then add fees.
I got tired of trying to fight it and just paid what they wanted.

In Texas, and it put a hold (suspended) my license here.

From now on out, every single ticket, every single time I'm just getting a lawyer. I'm never doing this stuff again.

But, now I'm all good to go on my 1,400 mile drive Sunday.

I imagine hell being something like that office on airline highhway next to skate country.

Honestly they are all hell. That office is closed. I actually went to the one on Veterans and West End.

I tried going to the one at Harvey, but this Shamu-Jabba the Hut hybrid at the front desk, loud capped me and I didn't react corrrectly and was politely asked to leave. She didn't grasp the concept of "my shoes have steel toes" as to why the metal detector was going off every time I went through it. It's in a gov't building and you go through a detector. I took my shoes of and she told me to put them back on. "DIIIIIING" Have to go back again. I take the shoes off and put them on her desk. She tells me to put them back "on my feet" I do... "DIIIIIING"
I ask to be wanded, and get told something stupid.

Plus no food or drink, it's a long wait, at least the other ones have snack and drink machines and no "ms. Thang" 400 pound guards who don't understand that steel toe shoes set off metal detectors.

Yesterday.

Found they didn't suit my needs I have only Harvey and NOLA for choices.

It's done now.

Pay your out of state tickets and turn in your plates when you sell your cars. Don't let the dealer or anyone else TOUCH them.
Yeah that low digit Saints plate is nice. But if you want to keep it after you sell the car? $520.00

fricking raped. But it's over now.

I waited for an hour yesterday at the express on Siegan. But good thing they had a nice SALTWATER fish tank for me to look at while waiting. Hey here's an Idea, how about use the thousands of dollars they dropped in the fish tank and hire another fat arse to occupy a booth.

Reserve, Williams by the River and Mandeville are quicker than the old Troop B.

If it BR area, Port Allen is the place to go.

I'll take this time to give props in unlikely place.

The female manager at the DMV express on Siegen is pretty frickin awesome with customer service and getting people taken care of and outta there fast.
