I read about it a few weeks ago. They had just applied it to a practical application and it looks promising. It's right about the corner.

It makes me think of the possibilities. If we can now transmit info using light, what else could we transmit? Objects? People?

Useless when most people don't even have a broadband connection that is stable 20mbps down. Mine at 50+mbps up and down is more than enough for pron and nsfw threads.

I have a gigabit connection...so yeah, this would be great for me because I can only get 100 mbps max down on wifi.
Lots of people have broadband connections that have outgrown wifi capabilities. Sorry that you don't.

Just did a bit of reading on this. So it's not faster than a wired connection right? The only reason people use wifi over a wired connection is that it gives you mobility and allows you to connect with a phone or tablet. But from what I understand, with LiFi the device has to remain perfectly still in order to pick up the signal from the light. So it definitely won't allow mobility and it definitely won't work with phones or tablets. I may be misunderstanding it but that's what I gathered
