Nah, did multiple rotations there when I was a company commander while stationed in Germany.
"Hey, even though we have our own signal troops, let's get the local Signal Battalion to send a company over to help train our troops during our rotation."

That's where I was introduced to room temperature unfiltered beer for the first time as a young man. Changed my life, never had a problem with a warm last sip after that. I always liked how you could return you case of bottles for the next one. The summer before 9/11, 3 week stint with the guard.

Yep. Hohenfels has that sweet bowling alley with the bar in the back. We were in there every other night drinking and bowling or shooting pool.

Really liked the German-American Cantina on post.

Straubing in 1963-64 we policed the Cav troops
Had some good times
Was There when Pres Kennedy was shot.They put us on HIGH Alert.
We were near the boarder.Didnt know If we were going to be invaded.Thankfully not.
