but now you realize my parent is and always has been nuts?
This fricking guy:
My father just passed away a couple months ago. He was the greatest father i could have asked for in life. I will never be as great as a man as he was.

Now ,evidently he married a crazy person, my mother. My siblings and I always knew mom was a little off. She grew up very poor to an abusive father that I hope is burning in hell right now for some of the atrocities he committed against his wife and kids.
I have put her in my home for a little while until she can cope with my dad's passing better.
Talking with my siblings about her we started adding things up that didn't make since to us in our childhood. Apparently my mother burned down our house and my dads thriving restaurant a couple years later. The reason why she did this we can surmise is because she wasn't happy with living inthe house and the restaurant was too much work for her. My father after aall this timee always shielded us from the craziness without us knowing. He babied the woman so bad that she still doesn't know how to do things like pump gas , pay bills and organize a household.

TLDR my late father was a saint and my crazy mother is a demon.

Easter break for the kids must be a boring time for teachers like you.

My dad threw my brother out of the boat and told him to swim or die.

Not sure if he was shitty or not.

Bro swam like a mofo.

Nobody can answer this, she also stole money from each of us while were kids. Money we saved from summer jobs money that was saved for first vehicle or such. Between the four of her kids she probably stole 10,000 dollars which my dad had to pay out of his salary.
She also has had a painkiller addiction problem for around 30 years.

Your dad is an enabler, not a saint

I love these threads.

So many snowflakes. If all of them would have grown up in the 70's the world would be better off.

I remember my dad kicking my arse on the side of the road because I couldn't outrun a grown man at the age of 7. Grow up buttercups.

You're 100 percent correct he enabled her. At the same time , he kept his family together when he could have walked away with us in tote. That's why he was a saint, he unselfishly lived through the craziness without getting us involved.

He allowed a woman who burned her own home down to escape from stress to raise his children.

I guess that's why I was always with him , even when he had to run to his job for a little while he brought me.

I think I'm okay as long as I realize crazy is always around the corner and know to channel the bat shite crazy into productive outlets.
