I pretty drive all the time when with my wife. Can't sleep at all sitting up in a car/plane...might as do the driving.

Drove 13 hours from here to port canaveral a couple of years ago. Even in the return trip I drove every mile. I'd honestly rather man the wheel than take care of the kids. She's better at that and we don't have to stop if one needs something.

Drove from Tucson to Cleveland in a straight 30 hour stretch once. After the first 12 hours she probably offered to take over every 30 minutes. I told her no thanks. I've been in the car when she's driving. She doesn't pay attention to shite. I imagine when I'm not with her, to tell her the light is green or that she needs to get out of the fast lane, she must be pissing drivers off all over town.

I've driven completely by myself for 1400 mile trips(each way, driven mostly nonstop except checking into a hotel to sleep a few hours), with no accidents or tickets.
I think I can handle helping my husband out on long roadtrips
Otherwise we don't really keep strict tabs on who drives. Sometimes I do, sometimes he does. Usually that decision is made based on who will be drinking more that day/evening.

For longer trips I prefer to ride shotgun and catch up on reading while my wife drives.

Last time I let my gf drive when I was in the car with her she ran over a curb at 40 mph and bent a control arm. That was 3 years ago and I haven't let her behind the wheel with me in the car since. If we need a DD I ask her roommate to drive us
