Are NASA & SpaceX in competition with each other or are they separate missions?
SpaceX is a NASA contractor/vendor.

they normally flood the area with water right before launch?
Took a tour of Huntsville's center as kid and the one thing in remember is that their pumps were doing an Olympic size pool a second

True, but they are more than that as well. NASA saved them, but now they are going to save NASA.
SpaceX will also become the first space company not bound by bloated governmental evironmental rules. Sea launch on the way soon

What does that mean? SpaceX is just another vendor, along with Boeing, CIT, Lockheed Martin, Aerojet, Northrop Grumman, etc..., contracted by NASA. They just happen to be really efficient in their realm of tech. Without NASA, SpaceX spends all its time launching Starlink.

Don't know what you mean by this.

Not sure why you are getting offended by this???
Back in 2008, SpaceX was in trouble and it was NASA that gave them a $1.5 billion contract that kept them afloat and that is why SpaceX is where it is today. NASA save SpaceX
NASA is stuck to the government and it's budgeting processes. This is why NASA rocket development is slow and cumbersome. They only get so much money for the entire agency and failure is highly frowned upon. What NASA has though is brilliant people. Letting these people focus more on science of bettering human knowledge and less on space transportation is a good thing. This is where SpaceX saves NASA. They are going to let NASA be what they need to be and not waste money on transportation development.

They probably launch more commercial and non-NASA government stuff, than NASA related. They are in the business to get paid, so they pretty much launch anything they can.

I thought the picture said enough, but they are pioneering launches as sea in International waters. If you followed the EPA saga at Starbase, TX, this is something that can be mitigated by launching and recovering at sea.
