Worked out of Bossier City a few weeks back. Ended up making one pass through their Bass Pro, but didn't think to go for a swim.

Umm why would the police be looking for him?
What possible criminal statute would swims in water fall under?
He wasn't trespassed and he gone.

You’re pretty much correct.
It was dumb and silly but we’ve lost all perspective these days and just can’t leave it at that.

The store said they were going to have to drain and clean the tank and spend money doing so, etc. probably could have gotten him on a "criminal mischief / property damage" charge.
BPS declined to press charges though so they aren't pursuing him.

Draining and cleaning a tank is NBD and part of routine maintenance for those things anyway. And not to victim blame but I’m pretty sure Bass Pro knew what was getting into by creating giant Meccas for good ole Baws, replete with over-the-top aquascapes filles with bass and sac-a-lait. And to be clear, I love Bass Pro fwiw
I’m just saying that these days it seems we have to go to DEFCON 10 and pearl clutch about all the potential ramifications that happened (or COULD HAVE HAPPENED) every time some idiot somewhere does something dumb.
Case in point: look at what happens when someone streaks at a US sporting event vs a European one. In Europe the response will range from mild amusement to mild annoyance and the offender is eventually kicked out of the stadium and told to frick off. In the US, security comes running out from all directions treating the situation like the person is a nude Hitler running toward a microphone.
