Nürburgring. Beat the Porsche by 4 seconds.

Unless Ford has done a new official run in the last couple of weeks I have not heard of, possible but unlikely, the Porsche was faster.

Official times both on the 20,832m course

Porsche 992 3RS 6:49.328
Mustang GTD 6:52.072

That's not logical to me since the street car would beat the race car in a race (and it's nearly half the price)

It is only logical if you understand a road track race. Crazy street cars like the ZR1/ZR1x can be wicked fast on a single lap but soon start to experience heat soak and the ones over 1000 HP chew up tires at a super high rate meaning more time in the pits or slower lap times conserving tires. Depending on the length of the lap sports car races are usually 40-50 laps. The GTD is a race car made just street legal, the Corvettes are supercars that are street legal. The Z06 could probably beat a ZR1 over the course of 40-50 laps. Take for instance the GT2RS it is faster than the GT3RS over a single lap but in a full race the GT3RS would win.

Why buy that when the ZR1 exists?

Also GT3RS and Mclarens.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for explaining

My assumption is that he didn't spend $200,000 on a ZR1 because he didn't like the ZR1 and wanted the Mustang GTD instead.

Hope this helps!

I have no idea how it stacks up against an RS, but this is a Ford Mustang in name and badge only. It’s designed and built by Multimatic.

Speaking of Multimatic, they have rented Sebring International Raceway yesterday and today. They're running two of the Mustang GTD's for 12 hours each day. My guess is they are prepping for the upcoming IMSA Road Atlanta Petit LeMans.

Picture car rates can be very low. If it is just background you are looking as low as $150 a day. If you are talking about a “hero” car that is featured prominently it might get to $2000

Have a relative that has a 1970 boss mustang fastback. A Hollywood guy came to his house and wanted to use it for the Dukes of Hazzard when they were shooting in Louisiana.

He was going to rent it to him b/c he thought it would be cool and up the value of his car. The guy told him they couldn’t do that b/c of the chance it would get damaged in the race scenes. They wanted to buy it from him only. Not sure how they even found out he had the car b/c he doesn’t show it off.

Quite impressive x-ray vision. Not only through the garage doors but also the back of the house too
No. I actually looked at the pic of his "landscaping expertise" from the pic of his house posted above. A pressure washer should also be on his xmas list.
