What does "hospitalized" mean? Showed up to a hospital, or admitted. I guess I don't understand what you'd be at the hospital for other than the need for a ventilator. Fluids?

There are several steps before going on a ventilator. Just being on oxygen is a reason to be hospitalized.

It COULD mean that your mom fell, broke her hip, had to go to the ER, admitted for surgery, swabbed for covid and BAM ... she's a covid as well as hip fracture EVEN IF she had no signs/symptoms of covid.
