Send kids to mercy. Great neighborhood and school is less than 10 min away.

THIS. Worth every penny. People who say save the money and send kids to school in Central, Zachary, or LP don't get it. No comparison

Well I went to an Ascension school, which is one of the best public schools in the state to go to, and my parents didn’t spend $7,000 plus a year for me to go to a private school so yes it’s not worth every penny

Woodland Ridge, Episcopal is K-12. It's worth it.

Well I don't live in Ascension so that's not an option. Not moving out there either. Not a fan.

Amen. We all have our reasons and priorities. Hence my exclusion of certain areas in the OP, yet the astute reading comprehension of some continue to propose such options.

As someone who grew up there and resides there currently, it's nothing to write home about. However, the financial savings make a HUGE difference if you have kids, so many simply cannot afford a middle class lifestyle without being able to send their kids to public school.

Mercy is a great school, and if I had kids and lived in BR, it'd be where I'd want to send them for k-8.

When I did live in BR, I lived in walking distance from that church. It's a great community, but there's a lot of sketchy people walking down Ardenwood and Govenment Streets at all hours of the night, so I definitely recommend living on one of those side streets if you decide on that neighborhood. It's extremely convenient for eating out, getting to downtown and LSU, etc, but can be a pain trying to get out to the Millerville/O'Neal area (not as bad as say Perkins @ Bluebonnet) and not particularly convenient for getting out to the Mall or the Top Golf (if those are places you have any desire to frequent). I enjoyed living there far more than I ever did in AP.
