Where is the best part of the state to relocate to temporarily? I have a house full of displace relatives already but if we have to leave here (Ascension) where do we head? New Orleans? Houma area? Lafayette? Up I-55 to Mississippi?

Houston. They love it when we send them flood refugees.

I ask because I am sure the nearest hotels are booked and just figured someone else has had someone relocated and knows how far away they had to go before they found accommodations.

I'm in Slidell and it looks like we're over it. I would head east, I-10 or I-12, depending on 10's closure situation. It seems like that system is moving west. Good luck
And right on que the rains start and Direct TV freezes. Forget what I just said I guess

Houma/Thibkdaux is high and dry as well as NOLA.
