Start in an area with least resistance to enable you to set up shop - south Flawrida or NoCal. Reinforcements imminent to the shoreline

Where ever the pipelines start. Cut off oil and gas to California and the east coast. Occupy and strengthen all Midwest states

I'd probably bomb Colorado Springs which is where a lot of the nuclear silos are and I would hit the mouth of the Mississippi.

Once the US military realized there was a threat there will be no ships or planes getting within 200 miles of either coast.
The invaders would have to get all of the men, supplies, and equipment into the Western Hemisphere undetected in Canada and Mexico which would take years to do undetected.
I am going to say it will be impossible to invade the US.

Where would you start at, and what would your game plan be for invading the USA?
Most would go after Washington DC and take the capital right? But our biggest allies would be able to get to us from the East easier. I would invade the west and hope to contain the Pacific enough to keep Japan at Bay. Hit the major airbases and sea ports on the west coast.

Strategically, you'd most likely want to split the country in two as soon as possible, so if this theoretical enemy had the capability to mount an invasion, you'd want to start in Louisiana and work your way up the Mississippi or come down the St. Lawrence though the Great Lakes Basin and work your way down the Mississippi. You'd break the country into two more manageable halves that are split economically, militarily, and geographically instead of taking on one behemoth. You'd also want control of the Mississippi as soon as possible.
