Like a real one and not one for farming/gardening. I was looking for a melee weapon I could use for home defense. Anyone know of a good weapon-smith?

ETA: Correct term is "War Scythe"

A real Scythe is a farming tool.

I don't think there are many tactical accessories available right not.

You can buy hand sickles from Goodwood Hardware that are pretty great.

I'm not sure about the actual home defense aspect of that, but whatever.

A real scythe would be terrible in a home though. Too big, how would you swing it in a hallway?

If you look at rural feed stores or hardware stores you can find one.
I know smiths hardware in Pensacola has them in stock.
This would be a weapon only for a very powerful man.

Good point. I was thinking about going with the M48 Kama. It's smaller and I think I could really frick someone up with this. I think a sickle would also be a great choice. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure but Mossberg pumps should run about 150 at your local pawn shop.

I would recommend a falcata sword for home defense if you're looking for something crazy. A sword that hits like an axe.

Ice axes are pretty cool hand tools that you could use also.

Get a Gladius and not a farm tool if you're hell bent on using antiquated weapons for home defense

If all these are too main stream for you you can go biblical. How about a sling or a big fricking rock?
