I've been first Baptist and Catholic. Time to get Muslim, Hindu and Jew in so that I touch all my bases

'll never forget my Freshman year at LSU and seeing people with ashes on their foreheads. Growing up in Houston I never saw this ever in my life.
I grew up partly in BR and had never seen it before going to LSU. I finally figured out what it was when I remembered an old Lenny Bruce routine that mentioned it.

How sheltered were you didnt know Ash Wednesday was a thing?

I grew up in the BR area and honestly didn't know the ashes on the forehead was a thing until about 5 years ago.

I don't know how I never noticed this before. Do more people partake in this tradition now?

The OT is more of a God-less wasteland that previously thought.

You people need to get out of your hedonistic revival tents and into the light.

I grew up protestant baw. I know tons of Catholics though. It's odd that I don't recall ever seeing this growing up.

Check that box.
Isn't this how Catholicism works?

A Catholic responding to a Baptist:

"Somebody get the snakes so we can pray."

You think Baptists are the snake handlers? That's the Pentecostal folks.

Baptist people are much too boring to be messing with any snakes.

educate a heathen baptist on what the hell this means?

You're too far gone. I'll pray for you and your tambourine shaking cohorts.

At least we don't need a fricking pedofile go between to deliver our prayers to the Almighty God! We got a direct line baby!

I think you mean you want to join us in the tent after you escape from the sinful celebrations of the flesh and the idolatrous worship of the Mother Mary cult

My dad didn't really belong to any denomination so we went to a bunch of different churches. I can recall Chapel on the Campus, First Presbyterian, Blackwater Methodist, Zoar Baptist. We were nomads

Perhaps if you had a proper Catholic school education, you could learn to spell better. I'll pray to the patron saint of spelling bees for you.

Catholic traditions are trashy
I wouldn't say they're trashy but they are incomprehensibly stupid and contradictory of Christ and the Bible. Catholics need to wake up and actually read the Bible.

I'm Catholic. We don't read the Bible.
