When Mayor Broome hires BR's new Chief, will he fire officers in Alton Sterling case?

Apparently she is going to get a " yes mam" brother to be the next Police Chief of BR. I know she wanted Chief Dabadie to do it and he refused. If her Chief does fire them(if he even can) will the officers have a lawsuit that they could win?

since the mayor has been calling for it, probably a prerequisite for whatever puppet she installs

And they in turn, will sue the city for violating their right to due process. And they will get paid. And the lawyers will get paid. And you and I will foot the bill.

They are classified employees. Anyone can try to fire them but they can simply set up a hearing and get reinstated. You need cause for termination.

That is actually a good idea. Let EBRSO handle the law enforcement for the whole parish. They can hire all the BRPD officers.
