Flowers are played out. You call over the phone and give a credit card and costs you 3 minutes of your time, then some stranger brings them to her. Luckily, my wife doesn't see the point in spending $60-$80 on something that will wither away in a few days. Write unexpected notes and leave them for her, treat her with respect and kindness on a daily basis, listen to her, and just do little thoughtful things. That will go further than flowers.

I already do these things. Also, my wife prefers real plants versus flowers that will die soon.

never change, Walt I don't care for flowers. It is nice to get them but I feel bad throwing them away after less than a week. So I end up staring at dead flowers for the next week

I send/give my wife flowers 6-8 times a year. I've spent anywhere from $25-$150.
TBH, the spur of the moment $25 bouquet at the grocery store has gotten me laid way more than the cliche "Happy (insert occassion here)" set of flowers
