The problem is that MSY is not a hub for any airline. If they want to drive traffic, you need an updated facility with one central screening point for all terminals.

10 to 20 minutes away, thats not feasible. Unles they can just cut across the field which won't happen

Was just there this week. The new one is under construction. A bunch of equipment is already working in the new location.

That's my point.... And there are plenty of airports that have 10-20 minute rides to the rental facility. Phoenix, DFW, and LGA just to name a few

Detroit has a surprisingly awesome airport, but you also need a ride to the rental facility.
Even though MSY isn't nice, it's always easy to fly in and out of. Glad they are getting a new one though.
