Guess what, when gas goes back up, so does car production. I'm sure you can trace the last gas spike, SUVs and Trucks could be had dirt cheap.
I'll drive my paid off shite and wait for the nice trucks you baws are buying to become undrivable for your maxed out budget, then I'll swoop in with cash and get a half off discount.

That's not going to happen, at least not anywhere near the way it's happened in the past.
Back then trucks and suvs took a HUGE mileage penalty vs cars. Today's suvs and crossovers only get about 3-5 mpg less than midsize cars.
It's not 2007 anymore when suvs averaged like 13 mpg city. Most Crossovers can get in the mid to high 20s.
I think the accord only gets like 4 more mpg vs the crv.
