What do you expect from the generation that will take out tens of thousands of dollars worth of loans to pursue a degree in theatre or Polynesian lesbian culture?
They haven't much sense.

The "answer" is Allen Iverson.

Only real issues I have with them, anyone with a neck or facial tat I can't help but think they have horrible judgement.
And women who have sleeves or cover a large part of their body, just isn't attractive at all to me.

I'm 23 and don't have any. Looking forward to the day when I'm considered different for never doing it

You're looking forward to the day when you're old and smugly look down on others while wanting attention for NOT having tattoos?
Fascinating take.

Don't know when they became popular, but I do know they have made going to the beach like a visit to a circus sideshow.

My theory? The military. Almost everyone I see who was in the military is covered in tattoos (deployment tats, etc) and as the military downsizes and companies make a more concerted effort to hire veterans, tattoos are more common in the workplace.

This thread seems original. Without reading any of it, the consensus will be..
trashy.
low life non job having people.
will regret it when a grandparent.
To that I say, those people are shallow morons who have experienced nothing outside of their respective little microcosm of a town.

It must be a generational thing. My 21 year old son has 4. I'm 39 and have zero.

I'm around your age. Our generation is on the tattoo bandwagon.

I guess my point was I see a lot more 21 year olds with tattoos than 40 year olds.

My grandpa was in 3 wars.
Had a knife with a snake on one forearm. And a Polynesian woman on the other.
RIP Frank
Eta: never got one because I change my mind too much. A few friends got the tribal stuff when we were in college. Those aren't too bad I guess

The guys in Motley Crue were the first time most people had seen full sleeve tats & it grew from there.
All hell broke loose at the beginning of the Clinton Administration which is when pretty much everything went to hell. Think about that for a second. I don't even recognize America from what we lived like in the 80's. The 90's was the real turning point.
