re: Whats your worst car experience?

Back in the day, I bought a used 1976 Monte Carlo to drive back and forth to HS. A couple of weeks after I bought the damn thing I had a hard time cranking the thing up. Replaced the battery, voltage reg, alternator and starter, but it continued to give me problems. The weird thing about it was it didn't have a problem cranking up cold, only when the engine had been run for a while. I couldn't shut it off, because it would never crank back up until the engine cooled off (engine never overheated).

A friend of mine who happened to be a mechanic told me the starter was overheating for some unknown reason even though it was a brand new starter. I ended up selling it to a junkyard.
